A chance to (re)acquaint ourselves with some of the local hills that comprise the hilly section of the LCL.

Ascents of Red Lane (Frodsham not SH), Manley Road, New Pale Road, Bag Lane and Yeld Lane are the highlights before a coffee stop at either the Cotebrook Shire Horse Centre or Whitegate Station. A short detour to Rose Farm is also a possibility. The second half is easier on the legs as we head home via Foxwist Green, Sandiway, Weaverham and Antrobus.

At just under 58miles and just over 3,000ft of ascent it’s a stretch ride for the Active but with plenty of options to reduce both mileage and ascent en route if necessary.

We typically average between 14mph and 16mph and we would like to ask riders to be respectful of this for your own safety and the safety of the group. Suitable for road bikes only.

You can view details of the route here: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/38922296

Bikes MUST be in good working order and you MUST have a helmet.  You need to carry a spare inner tube or puncture repair kit and when necessary you should also have lights.

We meet at the Mulberry Tree, Stockton Heath, WA4 2AF and leave at 8:30AM prompt. Please aim to be at the meeting point by 08:20AM
Bikes MUST be in good working order and you MUST have a helmet.  You need to carry a spare inner tube or puncture repair kit and when necessary you should also have lights.

General Rules:
– Please keep pavements clear at meeting points, be respectful of pedestrians.
– Riders must ride maximum two abreast – not four! – and on the left hand side of the road – safety first!
– We generally ride as a single group, unless we have 12 or more riders when we would split into 2 groups (assuming we have enough ride leaders to accommodate this)
– Riders must have someone they can phone in case of emergencies and mechanical failure – it is not the responsibility of the leaders to fix a bike – but they will help if they can.
