Not the usual route out via Alderley Edge, Henbury and Gawsworth….instead we hit the outskirts of Knutsford before dropping down to Goostrey and Twemlow Green. Halfway along Forty Acre Lane we head South again for Kermincham then its East for the last few miles to the Old Barn (nee Chapeau Café). Cracking eggs benedict, just need the Sunday papers, a Bloody Mary or two and a taxi home!

Having foregone the Bloody Mary’s we head towards Jodrell Bank and then North up Batemill and Stock Lanes before descending into the centre of Knutsford. Then its Mereheath and Mereside to Bucklow Hill and on home via Swineyard.

57miles and 1,700ft of ascent with nothing steeper than 4.6% means this is a good option for the Active rider wishing to push a little beyond their usual Sunday mileage.

We typically average between 14mph and 16mph and we would like to ask riders to be respectful of this for your own safety and the safety of the group. Suitable for road bikes only.

You can view details of the route here: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/40130187

Bikes MUST be in good working order and you MUST have a helmet.  You need to carry a spare inner tube or puncture repair kit and when necessary you should also have lights.

We meet at the Mulberry Tree, Stockton Heath, WA4 2AF and leave at 8:30AM prompt. Please aim to be at the meeting point by 08:20AM
Bikes MUST be in good working order and you MUST have a helmet.  You need to carry a spare inner tube or puncture repair kit and when necessary you should also have lights.

General Rules:
– Please keep pavements clear at meeting points, be respectful of pedestrians.
– Riders must ride maximum two abreast – not four! – and on the left hand side of the road – safety first!
– We generally ride as a single group, unless we have 12 or more riders when we would split into 2 groups (assuming we have enough ride leaders to accommodate this)
– Riders must have someone they can phone in case of emergencies and mechanical failure – it is not the responsibility of the leaders to fix a bike – but they will help if they can.
