An option for Active riders not able to join the long run to Malpas today and also for Social riders to step up and experience a slightly longer, quicker ride.

Out via Thelwall, Lymm and up Burford Lane to Broomedge before we head down the hill to Arthill and then loop around Rostherne Mere. Then it’s Bucklow Hill, Mere and Comberbach before hitting the Café. Home via Little Leigh, Marsh Lane and Preston on the Hill.

A nice mornings run at just under 40miles and 1,300ft of ascent.

Average speed on an Active ride is typically between 14mph and 16mph. On a step up ride it will be the pace of the slowest rider but please be conscious of the typical average. .

Details of the route can be viewed here: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/36360611

Bikes MUST be in good working order and you MUST have a helmet.  You need to carry a spare inner tube or puncture repair kit and when necessary you should also have lights.

General Rules:
– Please keep pavements clear at meeting points, be respectful of pedestrians.
– Riders must ride maximum two abreast – not four! – and on the left hand side of the road – safety first!
– We generally ride as a single group, unless we have 12 or more riders when we would split into 2 groups (assuming we have enough ride leaders to accommodate this)
– Riders must have someone they can phone in case of emergencies and mechanical failure – it is not the responsibility of the leaders to fix a bike – but they will help if they can.
