An alternative route to one of the favourite Social coffee stops – the Anderton Boatlift. After descending into Frodsham, it’s a draggy climb out via Fluin Lane. After this it is downhill most of the way via Kingsley, Crowton and Weaverham leaving just the short incline that is Soot Hill to climb before coffee. With 20miles already under our belts it’s a quick run for home via Gibb Hill and the Arley drag

At just under 35miles and 1,400ft of ascent this is a classic Social ride. We expect to average between 11mph and 14mph over the ride.

SOCIAL: Boatlift via Frodsham

NOTE: At the time of posting Soot Hill is closed due to a landslip – it appears to be passable for bikes/pedestrians. We will update the route if necessary nearer the time.

Bikes MUST be in good working order and you MUST have a helmet.  You need to carry a spare inner tube or puncture repair kit and when necessary you should also have lights.

General Rules:
– Please keep pavements clear at meeting points, be respectful of pedestrians.
– Riders must ride maximum two abreast – not four! – and on the left hand side of the road – safety first!
– We generally ride as a single group, unless we have 12 or more riders when we would split into 2 groups (assuming we have enough ride leaders to accommodate this)
– Riders must have someone they can phone in case of emergencies and mechanical failure – it is not the responsibility of the leaders to fix a bike – but they will help if they can.
