Taking place every two weeks, the Social Café run usually lead by the Club Chairman.

This is an opportunity for prospective members to join us for a ride and maybe for some, have their first experience of riding in a group. For existing members it’s another chance to get out and spin the legs.

At circa 33miles and no real hills this is an ideal introduction to Club/Group riding – or a great excuse to get for a couple of hours on a Saturday morning.

Average speed on a Social ride is typically between 12mph and 14mph.

Routes may vary but will usually be one of the following:

SOCIAL: Saturday Café Run (Winter)

Bikes MUST be in good working order and you MUST have a helmet.  You need to carry a spare inner tube or puncture repair kit and when necessary you should also have lights.

General Rules:
– Please keep pavements clear at meeting points, be respectful of pedestrians.
– Riders must ride maximum two abreast – not four! – and on the left hand side of the road – safety first!
– We generally ride as a single group, unless we have 12 or more riders when we would split into 2 groups (assuming we have enough ride leaders to accommodate this)
– Riders must have someone they can phone in case of emergencies and mechanical failure – it is not the responsibility of the leaders to fix a bike – but they will help if they can.

For full details of our guidelines and to get a copy of the guest registration form if you are new to the club, visit our Guidelines page. New riders are always more than welcome and can enjoy 3 free taster rides with us before joining our club.
